May 25, 1974
Indianapolis, Indiana
When he was a Boy Scout with Indiana's Troop 276,
Shawn Smith had the ride of
his life on May 25, 1974 with "America's Legendary
Daredevil" Evel Knievel.
Shawn's Boy Scout troop was at the Indy 500 Parade helping people to their seats.
During
the parade, Evel Knievel was riding along, came up to the
scouts, and asked, "Who wants a ride?"
Shawn
jumped up and jumped on. A stranger took the photo.
