Cinnamon French Toast
(submitted by Mr. Yackel and the Troop
358 historic cookbook!)
The following quantities and procedure will
prepare 10 - 12 pieces of French toast or serve 3 - 4 scouts depending on their
hunger. Double recipe for eight.
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
12 slices of bread
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp oil
cinnamon
syrup
margarine
1. Beat eggs, milk, salt, cinnamon and oil with a fork in the large lid of the
cook set.
2. Heat griddle with moderate flame; place a light coating of margarine on the
griddle.
3. Dip the bread slices into the mixture, flip over to coat both sides. Dip
bread and remove from mixture quickly.
4. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Serve with butter and syrup like
pancakes.
SUGGESTION: If you're smart, you will place your syrup bottle in a pot of hot
water before cooking the toast. You may need to re-grease your griddle between
batches of toast.
